Rotary Axis/Gearbox
The rotary axis/gearbox (5th-axis) is the engine that drives the lathe, turntable, and bowl cutter attachments. The rotary axis is fully controlled by the CAD software, meaning you can create exactly what you specify in your drawings.
Lathe Cutter

The 8700 CNC lathe cutting a decorative belly column.

A rope twist column made on the CNC lathe attachment using the rigid wire attachment. Tapered rope twist columns can also be turned.

The rigid wire attachment can also be used in conjunction with the lathe to create rope twist, open rope twist and other decorative columns.

Top of the rope twist column coated and finished on a residential project.

A home with rope twist columns made on the CNC lathe attachment using the rigid wire attachment. Tapered rope twist columns can also be turned.
Turntable Cutter

Turntable cutting decorative acorn shape.

Decorative ball finials can be cut on the turntable attachment.

This bolt also was cut using the CNC turntable attachment.

The coated and painted ice cream and donut.

The turntable was used to create the donut and ice cream cone.
Bowl Cutter

The 8700 CNC table is barely noticeable underneath this giant domed ceiling insert that was cut using the Rotary Axis and the Bowl Cutter attachment.

Here the expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam planter and precast planter mold are shown.

Here a precast concrete fountain is shown.

The bowl cutter carves a foam fountain mold.
Rigid Wire Attachment

The Rigid (shape holding) wire can be used in conjunction with the lathe and turntable for carving shapes while the rotary axis is running. Such items as spiraled rope-twist columns, open rope-twist columns, etc. can be cut using the rigid wire attachment.
